Goodreads Description

Kate Winters has won immortality. But if she wants a life with Henry in the Underworld, she'll have to fight for it.Becoming immortal wasn't supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she's as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he's becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans. As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person whom she would really rather not meet. Henry's first wife, Persephone.

I’m going to come right out and say, I’m a little tossed on Goddess Interrupted. I liked it, but I didn’t like it as much as The Goddess Test. I found this one easy to put down. I would have finished it and reviewed sooner, had I not had this issue.
Kate was a little annoying to me in Goddess Interrupted. She was just too whiny. For much of the book, all she talks and thinks about is whether Henry loves her or not. Even when she was with James or Ava, the break in action would stop, so that they could discuss Kate’s insecurities. This drove me nuts.
However, I still like Kate’s Character. I felt she was stronger in book one, and I hope that in the next book she will be back to herself.
What I loved about Goddess Interrupted was the action, the descriptions of the Underworld and Persephone surprisingly. I wasn’t expecting to like her much. She is flawed, she’s not perfect. That’s what I liked about her most. Her character being added to the mix was enough to help me overlook some of the stuff I didn’t like as much.
Holy Moly to the ending! A bit of a cliff hanger, but a good one. I kind of predicted it, the foreshadowing is there, but I was still surprised if that makes sense. If not for Kate’s hopefully temporary whininess, this sequel would have been perfect for me. Regardless, I’m still going to be chomping at the bit for book 3.  I need to know what happens!

  1. I felt the same way...GI was just one big whine-fest and then when things finally get going, BAM, end of book 2 and the agonizing wait for book 3 begins. I did *not* like Persephone, tho. I know her presence was required for dramatic purposes, but I could've done without her. :P Great review. Now we can chomp at the bit together. :)

  2. Ditto! I was so annoyed w/this book. Kate's whining and Henry's brooding was tooooo much. I felt the same about Persephone. It's pretty bad when the "bad girl" is the girl you like. And I'm completely alone on this, but I didn't like the ending. I didn't get it at all. But that could be b/c I was so over it, I didn't pay enough attention. Great review, chickie!

  3. It did get kind of annoying. Did you read Goddess Hunt? In a way I liked that one the best, because you get Henry's perspective. I did love the ending to this one though and look forward to the next book. Nice review!

  4. I liked Persephone, too! Who did I not like? Kate and Henry. Argggg. They drove me crazy. I actually liked this book better than the first, probably because I'm a James fan and he had some great moments in this one. And that cliffhanger?? I'm right there with you waiting for book 3.
