The Iron King + GIVEAWAY!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted anything lately. It's been crazy busy for me these past 2 weeks. While being busy though, I was able to slowly work on making this trailer. I had some technical difficulties that set me back, and plus, this cover was a pain to make. I know it's not perfect, rather butchered actually when you compare. lol. But I did the best I could! I have to give it to Harlequin, they sure know how to make fancy covers. :)

So today's Trailer is The Iron King by Julie Kagawa. I read this book about a year ago. I loved it. I'll admit, I wasn't Meghan's biggest fan in the beginning. I thought she was a little naive and whiny, but she grew so much as a person from beginning to end, I couldn't help but love her. Don't even get me started on Ash. Oh my, that faery has captured my heart.

I'm not going to get into a long winded review, because I read it so long ago. I will say however, that you have to read this if you have not! I'm currently reading the Iron Queen right now, and I just pre-ordered Iron knight. This series is so great. It's so original, and magical.

I think everyone should read it, which is why I ordered a copy of The Iron King today when placing my pre-order.. just so that I can give it away to one lucky reader! :)

And now for the trailer! I really enjoyed making this one.. as difficult as it was. I know the Author loves to play the Sims, so she can fully appreciate what goes into these things. :) The music choice... is Desolate world from the video game Chrono Trigger. That was one of my favorite games growing up. I chose that specific song because that is the world you go to that is over run by computers, and machines. For those of you who have read the book, know why that song fits well. Okay, enough of my blabbing... Here it is!!!!

TEASER TRAILER TUESDAY - Shatter Me!

I decided to do Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. Last week I wasn't sure what one I was going to do. There really are so many amazing books coming out. When I saw the cover release of Shatter Me, I just couldn't resist.

Here is the goodreads description....

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days. The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old-girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

In this electrifying debut, Tahereh Mafi presents a world as riveting as The Hunger Games and a superhero story as thrilling as The X-MenFull of pulse-pounding romance, intoxicating villainy, and high-stakes choices, Shatter Me is a fresh and original dystopian novel—with a paranormal twist—that will leave readers anxiously awaiting its sequel.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this book, so here is my teaser trailer! Hope you all like it

TGIF @ GReads :)

Book Blogger Appreciation: Which book blogs have inspired you
or made a difference in your blogging experience?

Hmmmm, well, I have not been a part of the blogging community for very long. So I dont have a very large list, but there are a few I have stumbled on since starting, that have been very helpful. My blog is a little different from others, but I have gained some of the basics from viewing everyone elses. So I will list a couple who stick out for me. :)

April X from http://alysbookaway.blogspot.com/  She is one of the first bloggers I started talking with. If I ever have a stupid question, she is there to answer me. :) So thank you.. Oh, and she has a cool name.

Penny from http://www.pennyreads.com/  Another who I started talking with when I first started out. She's very nice, and her blog is great. Check it out. :)

Every blog that I follow has been an inspiration to me. These are just the two who have reached out to me personally. :) I'm almost possitive this list will grow as the weeks go on..

I also want to mention Author Beth Revis .  I know she's not technically a book blogger, and that's what this post is supposed to be for, but since my blog is a bit different, I wanted to mention her as well. When I made a Sim ATU trailer, I figured I would send it her, just so she could see it. She loved it, emailed me back thanking me and complimenting me on how great a job i did. That inspired me to continue making them, and this is how my blog began.

So thank you to all the great bloggers, all of you have influenced me somehow. :)

TEASER TRAILER TUESDAY (2) - Enthralled

Hey everyone!

So if you saw last Tuesday, I started a new segment. I will be making a teaser trailer for books I cannot wait to read.. I either have them in my wish list, pre-ordered, or on my shelf collecting dust screaming my name!  ( So many books, so little time) But books don't expire right! I refuse to rush through books just to get to the next, I have to savor each one.

I know it's only Monday, but I have off today, and Aubrey is at daycare.. so I'm posting it now so I don't have to rush around tomorrow morning to get it posted. :) This week I chose Enthralled. I just pre-ordered it Friday. The cover is gorgeous, and I just had to make it. :) This is an anthology packed full with a ton of amazing Authors. Some of them I have read, others I have not yet, but am going too. Kimberly Derting for instance, I just ordered The Body Finder and Desires of the Dead. I'm looking forward to diving in to these two!

She is only one of the great Authors featured in this book. Here is a copy of the list from goodreads.

Giovanni’s Farewell by Claudia Gray
Scenic Route by Carrie Ryan
IV League by Margaret Stohl
Red Run by Kami Garcia
Things About Love by Jackson Pearce
Niederwald by Rachel Vincent
Merely Mortal by Melissa Marr
Facing Facts by Kelley Armstrong
Let’s Get This Undead Show on the Road by Sarah Rees Brennan
Bridge by Jeri Smith-Ready
Skin Contact by Kimberly Derting
Leaving by Ally Condie
At the Late Night, Double Feature, Picture Show by Jessica Verday
Gargouille by Mary E. Pearson
The Third Kind by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Automatic by Rachel Caine

So here it is! I am very proud of this trailer... I learned a new trick. The movement going down.. who woulda thought the push transition would do that! :) Enjoy!

The Goddess Test + GIVEAWAY!

I loved this book. I have always been interested in Greek Mythology, so this was right up my alley. It had just enough of the original stories to feel familiar to me, but not to much. The story was original, and I could not put it down..

Kate is awesome. She's one of those characters you want to know and be friends with in real life. Henry.... I love him. No, really I do. He's thousands of years older than me, so I don't have to feel like a creeper crushing on him. lol.

I'm not gonna blab to much, you just have to read it to see how good it is! I'm sad I have to wait so long for book 2 :( But I know it will be worth the wait..

............................................................................................................................................................

Now for the giveaway. I know there are a ton of giveaways going on for this book at the same time. Aimee Carter was kind enough to send many of us a copy of The Goddess Test just for this purpose. Not just any copy... but a signed copy!!!! When she told me she was sending it, I quick read my own copy so I could make a trailer for it. Anyhoo... it's real easy to enter. I have not figured out that little contest form thinger yet, so like last time.. Just leave a comment with a way to contact you if you win. I will use random org to find a winner. You don't have to follow anything, or tweet. Though, that is always appreciated. :)

Contest will run from now until July 14th at 8 pm... <--- why such a dumb time? My daughter goes to bed at 8. lol. So that's when my free time starts.

-Must be 13 or older
-Open to US Only

 Good luck everyone!

And here is the Trailer ! Hope you all like it. The voice at the end is me. I was just messing around with my sound forge editor.

TEASER TRAILER TUESDAY :) The Carrier of the Mark

Good Morning everyone. :) So I don't know how often I'll get to do this.. but it's just something I thought I would try. I'm going to shoot to have one at least every other Tuesday, but if I have time, I'll post one every week.. This is not to be confused with the Teaser Tuesday thing hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Although that does look fun, and I might participate one day. :)

There are so many great books coming out, and so many of them have beautiful covers. Just about every week, a new gorgeous cover is released to the world. Problem is.. I haven't read most of my latest favorites. I either have them pre-ordered, or sitting in my amazon cart.. or perhaps even sitting in my shelf waiting to be read. I can't make a full trailer for a book I haven't read. So I decided to start making little teaser ones, that I can showcase how pretty the cover is with my Sims.

It's pathetic really, but when I see a new cover, I immediately think about how to make it with my game.

So anyway, enough blabbing. Here is a book I'm dying to read. It comes out on October 4th, 2011. I will make a full trailer for this someday, but until then... :)

A Holiday Makeover

Since I have started this little blog, I have met some great bloggers on here. So far it's been very fun, reading other reviews, holding my first contest and what not. I'm actually reading The goddess test right now. The author is sending out some signed copies for giveaway, and I'm a lucky to be one of the bloggers getting one.. :) So I will be working on her Sims trailer this weekend, and posting it with the giveaway maybe next weekend?! whenever it comes. :)

Along with working on her trailer, I will be redoing this blog.. Still the same thing, but much sharper looking. I have a plan in my head. I have learned how to add tabs with links and such, so it will look much nicer. The header will also be different. Same name, but I'm working on a much cooler picture for it.

I am also thinking of making a few teaser trailers over the next few weeks, of books I have not read yet, but have been getting a ton of praise and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on. Plus, they have beautiful covers.:) And the gaming dork that I am.. I see a book cover and the first thing that comes to mind is how I can make it with my Sims. Fun stuff!

So stay tuned! I have more giveaways and trailers on their way! Just takes me a little time. So yay for a three day weekend!
